2012 CCTC Standing Committees

·         AWARDS -- PAM THORNBURG, CHAIR

The Chair and Committee members publicize member accomplishments; keep the awards boards current with plastic plates; and present jackets, patches and wooden plaques to members at the annual awards banquet.  At monthly meetings, the Awards Committee reports on legs or titles earned.  Members complete a form of every title earned to ensure accuracy when plates/plaques are ordered. 

·         BUILDING & GROUNDS -- DINAH BECKER, CHAIR

The Chair and Committee members carry out the care and upkeep of the Club's physical property by arranging for landscape maintenance, training equipment maintenance, snow removal, building cleaning, mechanical systems maintenance, replenishing supplies, and replacing light bulbs.  The Committee schedules periodic work days. 

·         BYLAWS & POLICY REVISION -- , CHAIR

This Committee, which includes the Club Secretary, is responsible for an annual review of those documents to ensure they have been updated accurately and to recommend to the Board of Directors any necessary changes. 

·         LIBRARY -- , CHAIR

The responsibilities of this Committee are to maintain an accurate record of the Club's books and videos, to protect those holdings against theft or loss, to make those holdings available to members and maintain a check-out system. 

·         MEMBERSHIP -- CHARI HOPPER, CHAIR

The Committee's responsibilities include helping to recruit members, keeping available current copies of the CCTC Constitution and Bylaws, the CCTC policies and application forms; maintaining a system for receiving applications, having the information published, introducing applicants to members, tracking provisional members' attendance at meetings and arranging for a vote at the appropriate time.  Sponsors of applicants are notified of the upcoming election of new members.  

·         NEWSLETTER -- DINAH BECKER, CHAIR

This Committee, which includes the Courier Editor, is responsible for collecting and disseminating information of interest to the membership on a monthly basis.  Closing date for copy is the 15th of each month.  Constitutional requirements include:  announcing meetings 10 days prior to the meeting date, containing a reminder in the November Courier about annual dues, and providing timely membership application information.  Additionally, minutes from both the General Membership and Board meetings are to be published in the Courier. 

·         PUBLIC RELATIONS -- , CHAIR

In addition to a Chair, the PR Committee is composed of the Registrar and the Director of Non-Member Training.  The purpose of the Committee is to facilitate both internal and external public relations, announce club events through news releases, coordinate demonstrations, and to help the Club maintain a positive, professional image for the public. 

·         REGISTRATION --SANDRA CARBONELL (PUPPY & BEGINNER OBEDIENCE), & KATHLEEN STEVENS (AGILITY), CO-CHAIRS

The Registration Committee helps with the registration of public classes.  Responsibilities include returning telephone calls of inquiry from the public daily, completing registration cards and class rosters for Beginner Obedience, Puppy & Agility Courses, assisting in Orientation (1st session of a course), and working closely with the Director of Non-Member Training. 

·         SOCIAL -- , CHAIR

This Committee aids in the planning and implementing of social events for Club members.  These usually include the annual Holiday Party, Fall picnic, refreshments at monthly membership meetings and other events as scheduled. 

·         WEBSITE -- CHARI HOPPER, CHAIR

The Chair and Committee members are responsible for the maintenance and general upkeep of the Club website.  A working knowledge of computers and websites is preferred.

COLLARS AND LEASHES – LINDA BRIDGES

This member monitors the inventory of training collars and leashes and ensures an adequate supply is available. 

PUPPY COURSE COORDINATOR – NAN WYNN

The Puppy Course Coordinator works with the Directors of Training to schedule Puppy Classes and arrange for instructors and assistants. 

AGILITY COURSE COORDINATOR – JENNIFER LELYS

The Agility Course Coordinator works with the Directors of Training to schedule Agility Classes and arrange for instructors and assistants.
